A Finished Object

Last weekend found me once again in an automobile for many hours. While DH drove I knit and was able to complete this beauty.

Pattern: Branching Out Scarf designed by Susan Pierce Lawrence

Needles: Size 8

Yarn: 1 skein Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool Color 008

Comments: Very enjoyable knit. The 10 row lace pattern is very manageable for a beginning lace knitter. No modifications to the original pattern except I was able to get an additional pattern repeat from my skein of yarn.

I've found another charity, Afghans for Afghans, which needs hats, socks, vests and sweaters for children. After making two pairs of Lion Brand Magic Stripes socks for myself I was not excited about using the third skein in my stash for me so decided to use this yarn for a good cause. I'm to the heel flap already and although the yarn stripes quite differently on a smaller diameter leg I think the sock will be both warm and attractive.

I love the scarf! How did you like working with the Silky Wool?

The socks look great too.
