Mental Health Day

Occasionally I need to ignore my usual weekend chores and take a day for myself. Yesterday was one of those days and today I'm feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the weekend laundry, cleaning, and grocery shopping. What did I do on my "me day"? Why mostly knit of course. One Trekking sock is complete and I'm half way through the heel flap on the second. These socks fit wonderfully and the second one is knitting up very quickly. I've seen pictures of many Trekking socks and been told that it is almost impossible to make two of them identical because the color repeats just don't work that way. I was resigned to fraternal socks even though I would much prefer them identical. So when I begin the second sock I just cast on and didn't even try to match but wonder of wonders they look pretty identical to me so that makes me happy as well.

Packed up my 2 scarves for the Red Scarf Project this morning and will get them on their way tomorrow. I'm doing the Stitch Marker Exchange with 5 partners this round and have all my markers designed but am waiting for a shipment of toggle rings before I can complete them. The deadline for Afghan for Afghans is approaching and I'm debating whether I can complete any more items. Would really like to use some of my sock yarn remmants for baby socks but also intend to conquer my fear of the button band and complete a certain unnamed sweater.

I"ve learned long ago that making "To Do Lists" can be dangerous as I can generate many more action items than is physically possible to accomplish. Nevertheless I'm making a list for September.

  1. Finish Trekking Socks for SAM4
  2. Finish CPH
  3. Finish and mail 5 sets of stitch markers
  4. Use remaining Lion Brand Magic Stripe yarn for A4A item - child's socks, infant socks or infant hat
  5. Package and mail A4A items

Oh, these socks look fantastic - I'm totally in love with the colorway! And: Good luck with your To-Do-list!
